Curriculum

Curriculum

Dream Ideal Education School curriculum has planned activities that are organised in order to promote learning and personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the Egyptian, Canadian or British educational enrichment programmes, but also the range of extra-curricular activities that the school organises to enrich the experience of students. Our curriculum provides full-time supervised education for all our students which in turn provides experience in linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technological, human and social, physical, aesthetic and creative education.

Dream Ideal Education School’s priorities within the curriculum are:
Provide a broad and balanced specialized curriculum meeting the needs of the individual pupil.
Continuous building of self-esteem and the ability to learn autonomously.
High expectations.
Measure and show continuous progress in academic achievement and personal and social development, ensuring that each student develops a true understanding of his/her potential and embraces the coping strategies to overcome his/her difficulties.
Where appropriate, improve each child’s motor and perceptual difficulties.

Dream Ideal Education School Curriculum Policy provides a framework that enables the school to meet its obligations by ensuring:
the subjects in the Egyptian, Canadian and British educational enrichment programmes are taught;
the specific learning difficulties of each pupil is addressed in ensuring that a suitable course of study is being undertaken;
equality of access for all pupils to academic experiences
the needs of all pupils are met through a broad range of support, curriculum enrichment and extension activities;
a curriculum which offers continuity and progression of learning within and across various relevant stages; and
a relevant and appropriate curriculum that both engages and motivates pupils throughout their time at Dream Ideal Education School.

Organization and planning
We plan our curriculum in three phases. We agree a long-term plan for each key stage. This indicates what topics are to be taught in each term, and to which groups of children. We review our long-term plan on an annual basis.

With our medium-term plans, we give clear guidance on the objectives and teaching strategies that we use when teaching each topic. Our short-term plans are those that our teachers write on a weekly or daily basis. We use these to set out the learning objectives for each session, and to identify what resources and activities we are going to use in the lesson.
